This 10th edition of the Banque de France's Financial Stability Review is a special issue dedicated to Hedge Funds, whose role in financial markets has been recently drawing much attention.

With the aim to shed light on the multiple issues at play, the review brings together pieces from a weighty group of professionals and economists coming from banks, hedge funds, academia, supervisory authorities and central banks. The combination of views expressed here provides useful insights on the most relevant issues and aims to contribute to the debate by bringing together perspectives from both policy makers and major market participants.

To mark the publication of the special issue, a conference was held on 15 April in Washington, in collaboration with the IMF, at which several IMFrepresentatives and personalities that contributed to the Review addressed a large audience.
